How to use Fashion Gold Progressiva at home
What to have ready, the seven steps with their timings, and the mistakes that cost a result.
Choose
Four bottles hold the same cream. What differs is what each application costs you, and what you wash with in the weeks after decides how much of it you keep.

Progressiva comes in four sizes: 150 g · 300 g · 500 g · 1 kg. The cream is the same in all of them. Fashion Gold describes it as a one-bottle smoothing cream with hydrolyzed quinoa, sacha inchi oil and coconut oil, and lists it as formaldehyde-free.
So you are not choosing a strength. You are choosing how much cream your hair takes, how often you plan to treat it, and how much money you want sitting in a bottle.

The labels count in applications: up to 3 from 150 g, up to 6 from 300 g, up to 10 from 500 g and up to 20 from 1 kg. That is 50 g per application at every size. It is the brand's best case, and your own hair may take more.

Fashion Gold calls the 500 g bottle its professional size and the 1 kg bottle its salon size. The names describe volume, not a different formula.
No size comes with tools or shampoo. You supply a brush, a cap, a hair dryer and a flat iron, and the directions start with a sulfate-free wash. If you have never done the treatment, read how to apply Progressiva at home before you order.
The 1 kg bottle of Fashion Gold Progressiva: about $9.37 per application, counted by the label's up to 20 applications. The 150 g bottle works out to about $13.33.
| Size | Net | Price | Per 100 g | Applications | Per application | Against the dearest |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 150 g | 150 g (5.29 oz) | $39.98 | $26.65 | up to 3 | $13.33 | the starting point |
| 300 g | 300 g (10.5 fl oz) | $77.89 | $25.96 | up to 6 | $12.98 | 3% less |
| 500 g | 500 g (17.6 fl oz) | $107.89 | $21.58 | up to 10 | $10.79 | 19% less |
| 1 kg | 1 kg (35.2 oz) | $187.49 | $18.75 | up to 20 | $9.37 | 30% less |
The steps between sizes are not equal. Look at what the extra applications cost.
Extra applications are cheap only if you use them. A big bottle you never finish is the dearest cream on the shelf.
A quick test for the 1 kg bottle: it costs the same as 15 applications bought at the 300 g rate. Use 15 of its 20 and you are even. Use more and you are ahead.
The words "up to" matter. Fashion Gold says the real count depends on the length and thickness of your hair. Short, fine hair sits nearest the label's 50 g. Long or thick hair takes more.
Buyers confirm the spread. One with shorter hair used most of a bottle in a single session.
But 6/8 of one bottle did my shorter hair so beware n buy extra.
Another, with thick and coarse hair, emptied a bottle in one go.
As other reviews say, bottle is super small and I was only able to treat my hair once with this with the amount of product given.
So plan with three paces, not one: the label's 50 g, twice that, and three times that.
| Size | 50 g a session (label pace) | 100 g a session | 150 g a session |
|---|---|---|---|
| 150 g | 3 sessions, $13.33 each | 1 session, $39.98 each | 1 session, $39.98 each |
| 300 g | 6 sessions, $12.98 each | 3 sessions, $25.96 each | 2 sessions, $38.95 each |
| 500 g | 10 sessions, $10.79 each | 5 sessions, $21.58 each | 3 sessions, $35.96 each |
| 1 kg | 20 sessions, $9.37 each | 10 sessions, $18.75 each | 6 sessions, $31.25 each |
Take the 150 g bottle. At the label pace it is 3 sessions. At 150 g a session it is one, and the cheapest bottle to buy becomes the dearest way to treat your hair.

Measure your pace instead of guessing it. Weigh the full bottle on a kitchen scale. Weigh it again when you finish. The difference is your grams per session.
Divide any bottle by that number and you know your sessions. Divide the price by the sessions and you know your real cost.
Three kinds of buyers get their money back from it. The first treats more than one head at home and splits the cost. The second has long, thick hair that takes 100 g or more a session. The third is a stylist.

For everyone else the question is pace. At the label's 50 g, 1 kg is 20 sessions for one person. Ask how many sessions you do in a year, and whether one opened bottle should cover them all.
It does not suit a first order. You do not yet know how your hair responds. One buyer followed the directions and saw no change.
It did not straighten my hair at all.
Other buyers report straight hair, but the warning is fair. Run your first session from the 150 g or the 300 g bottle. Do the strand test the brand asks for and wear gloves. If your hair takes to it, size up on the second order.
Yes. At current prices the Progressiva kit with the 300 g bottle costs $123.79, and the same 3 pieces bought singly cost $137.68: $13.89 less as a pack. The kit with the 500 g bottle is $36.68 less as a pack.
The kit holds the same cream as the bottle. Fashion Gold packs it with the Protect & Control shampoo and the 2-in-1 mask: the wash before the treatment and the care after it, in one box.
| Pack | In the box | Pack price | Pieces singly | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kit with 300 g | Keratin Treatment 300 g, Sulfate-Free Shampoo 300 ml, 2-in-1 Conditioning Mask 250 g | $123.79 | $137.68 | $13.89 less as a pack |
| Kit with 500 g | Keratin Treatment 500 g, Sulfate-Free Shampoo 500 ml, 2-in-1 Conditioning Mask 500 g | $149.99 | $186.67 | $36.68 less as a pack |
| Set with three masks | Keratin Treatment 300 g, Medula Reconstruction Mask 250 g, Cortex Nourishing Mask 250 g, Cuticula Hydrating Mask 250 g | $153.90 | $167.78 | $13.88 less as a pack |
Read the kit a second way. Take the cream out at its bottle price, and the shampoo and mask in the first kit cost you $45.90 together. Bought singly in their small sizes, the two cost $59.79.
Skip the kit if a sulfate-free shampoo you like already stands in your shower. The directions ask for a sulfate-free wash, not for one brand of it. The kit also brings no tools.

The treatment and 3-mask set pairs the 300 g bottle with the three 250 g Cronograma tubes: Medula for reconstruction, Cortex for nutrition and Cuticula for hydration.

In dollars: the set costs $153.90. The 300 g bottle plus the three-mask set bought apart cost $167.78, so the set is $13.88 less as a pack.
The set holds no shampoo, so you still need a sulfate-free wash for the first step. It holds no tools either.
The masks are rinse-out conditioning masks. You use one per wash, for 3 seconds as a conditioner or for 10 minutes as a deeper treatment. They do not straighten hair. Which tube to pick in which week is a subject of its own: see the Cronograma schedule, mask by mask, or browse the Cronograma line.

Kit or set comes down to what your shower lacks. The kit gives you the wash the directions call for. The set gives you three masks and leaves the shampoo to you.
Go by the date and the storage directions printed on your own bottle of Progressiva: the product facts Fashion Gold publishes give no shelf-life figure. For planning, count applications. The 150 g bottle holds up to 3 and the 1 kg bottle up to 20, so buy what you can finish at your pace.
A product’s “shelf life” generally means the length of time you can expect a product to look and act as expected and to stay safe for use. This length of time varies, depending on the type of product, how it is used, and how it is stored.
Two of those three factors are in your hands. The FDA notes that fingers dipped into a product add microorganisms, and that heat, sunlight and air can change color, texture and smell.
Store cosmetics properly. For example, don’t leave them where they are exposed to heat, such as in a hot car.
For a bottle you open several times a year, that turns into five habits.
Write the opening date on the bottle with a marker.
Pour what you need into a clean bowl. Do not dip the brush or your fingers into the bottle.
Close the cap as soon as you have poured.
Keep the bottle in a cool cupboard, not on a sunny sill, by a radiator or in a car.
Look and smell before every session. If the cream has changed color, texture or smell, do not use it.

The price per application argues for the biggest bottle. The calendar argues for the one you finish.
The cream is one afternoon. The washing is every week after it. Fashion Gold builds its Protect & Control line for this. The brand describes the shampoo as the wash step it pairs with Progressiva.

Protect Poo Pre-Shampoo Treatment
On dry hair for 2 minutes, from 10 cm below the scalp to the ends, then rinse.

Protect & Control Sulfate-Free Shampoo
A small amount on wet hair, lather, rinse, and repeat if needed.

Protect & Control 2-in-1 Conditioning Mask
3 to 5 minutes as a conditioner, or 10 to 25 minutes under a thermal cap as a mask.
Protect Poo is a cream for dry hair. You put it on before you step into the shower, from about 10 cm under the scalp down to the ends, and rinse it after 2 minutes. Fashion Gold says it shields the lengths from the drying effect of washing. It names baobab oil and shea butter.

It is an extra step, not a shampoo, and it stays off the scalp.
Fashion Gold lists the Protect & Control shampoo as sulfate-free, paraben-free and salt-free. In the brand's words it cleanses without stripping moisture and helps keep the result of a smoothing treatment. The named ingredient is trehalose.

It is not a clarifying wash, and it does not straighten hair by itself.
Smells so good and really detangles my hair. I would use this even without a progressiva.
The Protect & Control mask comes in a jar and does two jobs. Left on for 3 to 5 minutes it is your conditioner. Left on for 10 to 25 minutes under a thermal cap it is a mask. Either way you rinse it out.

It does not straighten, and it is not a leave-in. The thermal cap for the long version is not in the box.
No. The Progressiva directions ask for 1 thing: a sulfate-free shampoo, and Fashion Gold pairs the treatment with its Protect & Control shampoo.
The 2-in-1 mask replaces your conditioner. Protect Poo is an extra 2 minutes for dry or textured lengths. Build the routine in that order. Shampoo first, because the directions name it. Mask second, because you condition after every wash anyway. Protect Poo third, if your lengths feel dry after washing.
| Product | Size | When | Price | By volume |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Protect Poo | 300 ml | Before the wash, on dry lengths | $32.89 | $10.96 per 100 ml |
| Protect Poo | 500 ml | Before the wash, on dry lengths | $42.90 | $8.58 per 100 ml |
| Shampoo | 300 ml | The wash | $29.89 | $9.96 per 100 ml |
| Shampoo | 500 ml | The wash | $39.89 | $7.98 per 100 ml |
| 2-in-1 mask | 250 g | After the wash | $29.90 | $11.96 per 100 g |
| 2-in-1 mask | 500 g | After the wash | $38.89 | $7.78 per 100 g |
The large sizes win here too. The 500 ml shampoo costs $10.00 more than the 300 ml one and holds 200 ml more. Shampoo is the one product you are sure to finish.
Together the shampoo and the mask run from $59.79 in the small sizes to $78.78 in the large ones. Protect Poo starts at $32.89. If you bought a kit, the first two are already in the box.

Products are half of after-care. The other half is how you wash and how much heat you use.
Apply shampoo to your scalp, instead of the entire length of your hair. This way, you cleanse and wash away built-up products, dead skin, and excess oil, but avoid drying your hair too much.
Lather at the roots and let the foam run down the lengths as you rinse. Do not scrub the ends.
The American Academy of Dermatology ties the schedule to your scalp, not to a calendar.
Wash your hair based on how often it gets dirty or oily. If you have straight hair and an oily scalp, you may want to shampoo every day.
If you have oily hair like me, you will probably will need to wash every other day

No matter your hair type, excessive heat can cause damage. Limit blow drying and use of tools like flat or curling irons.
The treatment day is a heavy heat day: a full blow-dry, then 15 to 20 flat-iron passes per thin section at 356°F to 392°F. In the weeks between, give your hair the opposite.
How long the finish holds differs from head to head. Fashion Gold gives no figure, and one buyer saw the sleek look ease off early.
It made my hair very sleek for the first few weeks, but after about two weeks it seemed to wear off—though not to the point where my hair curled again.
Size down and test first. Fashion Gold warns that white or gray hair may change color during the process, and buyers with dyed hair report shifts too.
It definitely made it straighter but it also made me blonder.
A strand test on a hidden section costs a spoonful of cream and an hour. For the weeks after, the brand lists the Protect & Control shampoo and mask for color-treated hair as well as keratin-treated hair.
The sun can make your hair weak, dry, rough, faded and brittle. This is especially true if you dye, bleach or perm your hair.
A hat costs less than any mask. Blonde, bleached or highlighted hair also has a set of its own: the Perfect Blonde kit holds three rinse-out masks, one of them a toning mask against yellow tones. A toning mask is not a dye.
Then Progressiva is the wrong bottle in any size. Fashion Gold says it reduces volume and frizz and leaves hair more aligned. The line for curls is Capulana: a curl cream, a mask, a leave-in, an oil and a day-after spray that define the curl and do not loosen or straighten it.

Fashion Gold makes two kits for children, and neither holds a smoothing treatment. The girls' kit is three rinse-out masks. The boys' kit is a shampoo, a conditioner and a leave-in. Budget for them apart from your own bottle. Both sit with the other mask kits.
Pick how many sessions you expect in a year and how much cream each one takes. The cheapest mix of bottles follows from the prices.
| Your year | Cream needed | Cheapest way to buy it | Cost of the cream | Per session |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 sessions at 50 g | 100 g | One 150 g | $39.98 | $19.99 |
| 4 sessions at 50 g | 200 g | One 300 g | $77.89 | $19.47 |
| 6 sessions at 50 g | 300 g | One 300 g | $77.89 | $12.98 |
| 2 sessions at 100 g | 200 g | One 300 g | $77.89 | $38.95 |
| 4 sessions at 100 g | 400 g | One 500 g | $107.89 | $26.97 |
| 6 sessions at 100 g | 600 g | One 150 g and one 500 g | $147.87 | $24.64 |
Take four sessions as an example. At the label's 50 g that is 200 g of cream, and the cheapest way to buy it is one 300 g for $77.89. At 100 g a session the same year needs 400 g and costs $107.89.
Two cautions. The cheapest mix assumes you use every gram. It also assumes an opened bottle stays in good condition across the year, and that depends on how you store it.

Whatever the size, the bottle is half of the result. The other half is the hour of waiting, the flat iron and the wash you choose afterward. The steps are in the at-home treatment walk-through. The bottles, kits and set sit together in the keratin smoothing line.
This guide is about cosmetic hair care, not medical treatment. Follow the directions and warnings on the pack, do the strand test first, and see a doctor about a scalp condition or hair loss.
